The Unit Clerk is responsible for providing services to the units, which includes but is not limited to entering orders, ensuring all labs are filed in a timely manner, assembling charts, maintaining supplies on the units, ensuring there is an adequate supply of forms on the units, assisting with patients’ personal belongings and other duties as assigned by the CNO.

The Unit Clerk will greet and assist visitors and serve as back-up personnel on an as needed basis at the front desk during visiting hours.

This is a PRN position. The work hours for this position are from 8:00 am until 12:00 pm.

Education: High school graduate or equivalent preferred.

Experience: Two (2) years in a health care setting, with working knowledge of computers preferred.

Additional Requirements: May be required to work flexible hours. Successful requirement of CPI training with 30 days of hire.

1. Provide support to unit staff, ensuring proper organization on the units.

2. Provide support for the preparation of charts:

• Maintain supply of forms on each unit.
• Assist with filing of loose forms and daily patient lab reports in the patient charts.
• Assist with organization of the charts.
• Answering Multi-line phone system

3. Provide assistance with patient’s personal belongings.

4. Provide support with filing as requested and time permitting.

5. Adhere to facility, department, corporate, personnel and standard policies and procedures.

6. Attend all mandatory facility in-services and staff development activities as scheduled.

7. Adhere to facility standards concerning conduct, dress, attendance and punctuality.

8. Support facility-wide quality/performance improvement goals and objectives.

9. Maintain confidentiality of facility employees and patient information.

10. Provide support to the front desk lobby area.

11. Utilize the paging system to announce calls as required.

12. Drawing labs on patients

13. Other duties as assigned.
